AXO Texas Exec Retreat Preview

I'm spending Friday - Sunday in Arlington, Texas, with collegiate officers and advisors from the 13 Alpha Chi Omega chapters in Texas.

I like any hotel that has trees indoors! I'm a 'special guest' for the Texas Exec Retreat, which is a weekend for all the new chapter officers to learn more about their positions and enjoy the society of their sisters from around the state. I'll be presenting on Panhellenic issues and Recruitment, and meeting with most of the chapters individually, between Friday evening and Sunday mid-afternoon. I'll post a report next week!

Greek Letter Cookies

I am now the proud owner of a complete set of Greek letter cookie cutters (thanks to Britain xoxo), which means my cookies for the Tallahassee Alumnae Panhellenic silent auction were even more exciting than usual. (see last years here.)

To give you an idea what the cutters look like here are three of my favorite letters:

Here is a tray of cookies, straight from the oven. Thanks to my friend (and fellow Alpha Chi alumna) Jennifer O who came over to help with the baking on Thursday!!

And here are the cookies, packaged up and ready to go to the auction. All 17 groups attended the luncheon, isn't that great?

Next time I make them, I will try frosting them. Some of the letters turned out a little fragile, particularly the Pi and the Xi. I'll have to experiment with some different doughs as well as the thickness of the cookies. But overall I was really happy with the inaugural batch, and they were a hit at the silent auction!

Alpha Chi Omega Convention Day 2

Alpha Chi Omega's National Chapter Meetings begin this morning at 8:30am

"The tradition of wearing white at the opening chapter meeting began in 1985. Because white is worn during the Initiation ceremony, it represents the beginning of a lifelong journey to find the harmony of spirit that carries to the outer world the radiance of the light within. By wearing white we honor our beginning as a member and demonstrate publicly the tie that binds us to each other and to Alpha Chi Omega." (see photos here)

At noon we break for the Olympian Luncheon:
"MCR
Sponsored byMCR: MyChapterRoom
Alpha Chi Omega Olympians are members who have attended three or more conventions. This luncheon celebrates those active alumnae. Panhellenic guests from other NPC groups will attend to celebrate the Panhellenic spirit with Toastmistresses Julie Burkhard, Past National President and Past NPC Chair, and Donna Chereck, Past National President and Foundation Trustee."

I'm very excited that I am "on the script" for the Luncheon. I get to hand out some awards!

The National Chapter Meeting continues again at 2:30pm, followed by Reunion Dinner at 7:30pm "You will meet new people and reconnect with old friends as you sit with your chapter of initiation! Reunion night is an evening of fun, relaxation, recognition of select award winners and fellowship with your sisters."

I love Reunion Dinner! Here are some pictures from past years:
