"The tradition of wearing white at the opening chapter meeting began in 1985. Because white is worn during the Initiation ceremony, it represents the beginning of a lifelong journey to find the harmony of spirit that carries to the outer world the radiance of the light within. By wearing white we honor our beginning as a member and demonstrate publicly the tie that binds us to each other and to Alpha Chi Omega." (see photos here)
At noon we break for the Olympian Luncheon:
Sponsored byMCR: MyChapterRoomAlpha Chi Omega Olympians are members who have attended three or more conventions. This luncheon celebrates those active alumnae. Panhellenic guests from other NPC groups will attend to celebrate the Panhellenic spirit with Toastmistresses Julie Burkhard, Past National President and Past NPC Chair, and Donna Chereck, Past National President and Foundation Trustee."
I'm very excited that I am "on the script" for the Luncheon. I get to hand out some awards!
The National Chapter Meeting continues again at 2:30pm, followed by Reunion Dinner at 7:30pm "You will meet new people and reconnect with old friends as you sit with your chapter of initiation! Reunion night is an evening of fun, relaxation, recognition of select award winners and fellowship with your sisters."
I love Reunion Dinner! Here are some pictures from past years:
