Veteran's Day in Tallahassee

I was looking around for something to do with T on Thursday for Veteran's Day that would help him better understand why we have the holiday. He loves to say "thank you" and who deserves that more than our veterans? It turns out that there is an organization in Tallahassee that aims to make our Veteran's Day the best in the nation. They are starting out this year by expanding the parade (from 30 entries to 100, and a new route, down Monroe Street); next year there'll be a Vet Fest all day. Pretty exciting.

This year's parade kicks off at the corner of Call Street and Monroe, heads south on Monroe to Gaines and then east on Gaines to Lafayette. Two hundred motorcycles will lead the parade and both the FSU Marching Chiefs and the FAMU Marching 100 will march.

Here's the PSA for the event

For more information, see the V.E.T website at http://veteventstally.org/
There is also a good article from November 2nd in the Democrat here.

See you there?
