Happy 100th Birthday Peggy!

A group of us had the honor of attending fellow Alpha Chi Omega Peggy's 100th birthday party June 11th at Westminster Oaks. It was so nice to meet her friends and former co-workers! We learned some fun facts:

  • She was a pioneer in the career world. She moved to Chicago for her first job, directly after graduating from University of Oklahoma, and later served as personal secretary to four of Florida's State Attorneys General.
  • Peggy was a real beauty! She was Miss University of Oklahoma her junior year in college, and still wears a tiara with style and grace.
  • Peggy credits her longevity to having never driven a car. In Tallahassee, she lived downtown where she could walk to her office at the Capitol every day.

While we were at Westminster Oaks, we also had the privilege of presenting 1948 initiate Norma with her 60-year member pin. Here I am performing the ceremony. Norma is seated and her AXO daughter Linda is ready to pin her.
And here we all are after the ceremony:
We had such a nice afternoon!
